Indications
Chromic gut suture is indicated for the use in animals in general soft tissue approximation and or ligation, including use in ophthalmic surgery.
- Purity of collagen for optimal tensile strength and in vivo performance.
- Surface smoothness to facilitate knot run down and knot strength.
- Absorption rate is variable at 14-28 days.
Contraindications
Not for use in cardiovascular or neurological surgery.
- Catgut should be stored sealed until ready for use.
- The product should be used within 90 days after opening and stored at room temperature in a dry environment.
